Adopt-a-School Project:

The William Seach School

We are entering our third year of a project that been as much a blessing to us as it has been to the Seach School. We simply had the desire to help and in the process have been involved in a great partnership.

After meeting with the Assistant Principal and a Kindergarten teacher at the time, we left with a couple of ideas and no commitment. It came to our attention that teachers were spending around $1000 a year out of pocket to buy much needed supplies. We also found that the teachers only had hard wooden chairs to sit on.

Our plan was to provide a rubbermaid container to each of the classrooms filled with school supplies. The logo above was placed on the containers which became known as the "We Care" boxes.

Also, we found a deal on nice rolling office chairs and were able to provide one for each classroom. On top of that it was decided that we would makeover the teacher's lounge. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint, some new furniture, and a stocked cupboard would do for morale. Last summer the project involved a makeover of the school courtyard.

Throughout the year we stopped by with cookies, candy, and flowers to brighten the days of the teachers and staff.

Our vision is that ALL schools would be adopted by a church, business, individual or family. It is not  difficult. Simply watch for the school sales and exercise wisdom when buying supplies and furniture.
